The Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland announced the 2010 NW Natural Street of Dreams award recipients yesterday during an evening ceremony at NW Natural.
The dream homes earned awards in three categories: Professional’s Choice, which are judged by industry professionals from outside the Portland area; Realtor’s Choice, selected by licensed realtors who attended the show’s Realtor Day; and, People’s Choice awards, which are voted on by show attendees.
“We really transformed the show this year and gave the public exactly what they asked for,” said Show Chairman Rick Bernard. “I couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of the spectacular homes showcased by these amazing builders.”
This weekend is the general public’s last opportunity to see these award-winning homes. The show runs through Sunday, August 29, and tickets are available on-site or online at www.streetofdreamspdx.com.

The Oregon Humane Society will be on site with shelter dogs looking for a good home. They’ll have 25 percent off adoption coupons, and a larger discount may apply for dogs adopted on-site. LexiDog will also have some boutique items on display, Dr. Wilson from the Forest Heights Vet Clinic will be available at the “Ask a Vet” booth and Heal NW will be on hand to discuss doggie massage techniques.
Note: Personal pets not allowed on site.

The fire was contained to an outdoor fireplace and deck area. No one was hurt, and the home itself wasn’t damaged. Crews worked through the night to fix the damage and everything is back to normal today.

Oregon Black Walnut Dining Table
The dining table and six-chair set combine traditional woodworking with industial metal work. The tabletop, seats, and backs are hand-crafted from local Oregon Black Walnut. The tabletop, joined with steel butterflies, clebrates raw materials with its live edges. This set show in House #4 The Maybeck by Macleay Overlook LLC is a collaborative effort by Greg Forcum, Pete Coracci, and Andrew Lohr.
