Award-Winning Green Design Firm Returns to Portland Street of Dreams Tour

August 10th, 2010

For the second year in a row, Northwest home design firm Paolo Design Group has provided the interior design for Portland’s prestigious Street of Dreams tour, an annual showcase of some of the city’s most coveted luxury homes. The house will be on display to the public throughout the month of August as part of the tour.

In a departure from last year’s contemporary style, Paolo used the Arts and Crafts motif as inspiration for the Maybeck, a three-bedroom bungalow home in the scenic Macleay Overlook neighborhood. The style is marked by beautiful wood tones, smooth textures and colorful glass.

“The Arts and Crafts style has a warmth and glow to it, with natural woods and a hand-crafted, heirloom quality,” said award-winning residential and commercial designer Paolo Scardina. “Our design emphasizes comfort and functionality, with a simplicity and earthiness that never goes out of style.”

With lighting, furniture and accessories by Rejuvenation; stained glass by David Schlicker Stained Glass Studio; and contributions by Greg Forcum Steel & Design, EWF Modern and NW Rugs, the Maybeck offers a rich and classic appeal.

The Street of Dreams, which features six fully decorated homes in a variety of styles, attracts thousands of visitors each year. The focus of this year’s tour is on luxurious, sustainable living in dwellings that span the housing spectrum, from European Craftsman to prefab.
